After studying Drama at the University of Bristol I got my first break in television directing Second Lives - a series of shorts for Channel 4 about virtual worlds.

Subsequently I developed and directed The Secret Life of Chaos for BBC4. The film was shortlisted for a Grierson award, won best film at the International Science Film Festival and won at the Association of British Science Writers annual awards. I went on to write and direct Everything and Nothing and Order and Disorder – films that explored some of the biggest ideas in physics. Both series were nominated for Grierson awards.

Other credits include BAFTA nominated Mechanical Marvels: Clockwork Dreams, the Emmy nominated first episode of How We Got to Now, The Brain with David Eagleman, RTS and Grierson winning Oak Tree: Natures Greatest Survivor, two episodes of One Strange Rock and a film about Saturn for The Planets series with Brian Cox.

I am currently working with Jeff Goldblum on a new series for Disney+ and National Geographic...

I live in North London with my partner Sophie and daughters Margot and Grace.
